Ogbono Soup Recipes


















Yomi! Yomi! Yom! Yom!... Real african prepared soup, only a good woman knows how to get this one done... well my mom is one, a real good woman, she taught me how to cook this delicious ogbono soup in a very special, and i will love to share fun with you guys.... am going to show you guys how to cook this spicy soup as it is.....

Alright... shall we?

INGREDIENTS YOU NEED:
  • Grounded ogbono
  • Palm oil
  • Crayfish
  • 2 Tablespoon of grounded pepper
  • Maggi Cube
  • Dried Fish
  • Meat and Stock Fish
  • Medium Onions
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 liters of water
  • Bitter Leaf
The tools are ready! lolz.... ooops i mean the ingredients are ready, so let the war begin... (Sorry let the work begin)

HOW TO COOK:
  1. Put the washed meat, dried fish and stock fish in a pot.
  2. Add salt, grounded pepper, maggi and small water.
  3. Cook for about 10 minutes.
  4. Heat the palm oil in another pot and fry the grounded Ogbono for some minutes to bring out the flavour (Keep stirring the ogbono to avoid burnt)
  5. Now add water gradually and stir the ogbono to melt.
  6. Add the cooked meat, dried fish, stock fish and crayfish.
  7. Allow it to boil for some minutes after that, add more salt if needed
  8. Then add the bitter leaf and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
  9. Guess you are done, remove from fire and serve with either garri or fufu.
